Jerry Weitz, Ph.D., AICP, a veteran planner and author of the book Sprawl Busting: State Programs to Guide Growth, established a planning and development consulting firm on a part-time basis in 1999 to provide services primarily to public sector clients.

In 2000, he began consulting work on a full-time basis, and in 2001 he incorporated his sole proprietorship as Jerry Weitz & Associates, Inc. He entered consulting after more than a decade of public-sector planning experience for cities, counties, regional planning agency, and state land use agency in three states: Georgia, Oregon, and Washington (then Georgia again).

Jerry Weitz & Associates, Inc., Planning and Development Consultants, was incorporated in May 2001 in Alpharetta, State of Georgia (Corporation No. 0122254).

Jerry Weitz & Associates, Inc. is a member of the Better Business Bureau for the greater Atlanta area (Member ID: 11003197)

Jerry Weitz & Associates, Inc. is a member of the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce.
