City of Flowery Branch, GA
Lafarge Friendship Quarry Analysis (2006-2007)

The city hired Weitz & Associates to help process annexation and rezoning requests for the Lafarge Friendship Quarry. The firm prepared an impact report summarizing how the quarry may impact neighbors and the various state and federal compliance requirements. This work included follow up on compliance with conditions of zoning approval.

Neighborhood Planning Framework (2005)

As a follow-up to work on the unified development code, the firm assisted the planning staff in establishing a framework for neighborhood planning.

Character Areas Typology and Implementation (2004)

The firm worked with the Office of Planning and Quality Growth to prepare a comprehensive list of “character areas” for possible inclusion in local comprehensive plans. The project recommended implementation strategies for selected character areas and provided model codes in support of such implementation strategies, including a module based on "form based codes."

Georgia 400 Access Management Plan (2004)

Weitz & Associates served as lead consultant with Robert & Company to prepare a detailed frontage road plan and access management ordinance for properties in the SR 400 (US 19) corridor.

Revitalization Task Force (2001-2002)


Weitz & Associates worked with Jordan, Jones and Goulding, Inc. as a part of the consulting team advising Gwinnett County’s Revitalization Task Force. The firm researched Georgia’s revitalization statutes, prepared program evaluations of local revitalization programs in the southeastern U.S., and presented material to the task force.
