Newton County and City of Social Circle, GA

Jerry Weitz was selected as the out-of-county planning professional to head a citizen review panel that made recommendations regarding an annexation and major proposal by the City of Social Circle in Newton County. Newton County raised objections and after unsuccessful mediation the city and county established a citizen review panel pursuant to HB 709’s land use dispute resolution procedure (O.C.G.A. 36-36-11). Bartow County and City of Emerson, GA


Jerry Weitz was selected as the out-of-county planning professional to head a citizen review panel that made recommendations regarding an annexation/ landfill proposal in Emerson. Douglas County, City of Douglasville, and City of Villa Rica, GA
Arbitration of Land Use Classification Disputes (2003-2004)

During 2003, Weitz was chief arbiter in land use disputes between Douglas County and the Cities of Villa Rica and Douglasville. In 2004, he continued to mediate cases between Douglasville and Douglas County.
